oh hello, My name is Braja

Born and raised in Southern California.  I spent my summers by the ocean and camping with my grandparents and brother.  I always dreamt of accomplishing two things in life, become a professional photographer and to understand the Hindu faith.  The day after I graduated high school I committed five years of my life studying the Hindu religion.  I traveled to India twice and made many lifelong friends. Traveling to India, at the age of 20, I fell in love with the Hindu faith, the people and traditions of India ever since.  After my five years of study were completed, my Guru, Radhanath Swami, initiated me.

In the back of my mind, I still wanted to pursue my passion for photography. So, I studied under master photographers for years until I felt confident to start my own photography business.  My roots in the Hindu religion was the deciding factor to specialize in Indian weddings. Understanding the traditions and meaning behind the ceremonies is a significant asset to getting the best images for my clients.

I am happily married and living in So. Cal. I am truly blessed to have a partner in my life, he gives me balance, adventure and pushes me to do things I usually would not do on my own.  One of our favorite things to do together while traveling is antique shopping. Our home is furnished with antiques from around the world.

I hope you can feel my passion for Indian Wedding Photography when browsing the galleries of this website and blog. Thank You for considering me as your wedding photographer. If you want to see more or even meet me in person, send me an email at braja@brajamandala.com to set up an appointment at my Costa Mesa Studio.

WHEN CLIENTS BECOME FRIENDS

We met in Jaipur, India for the engagement session. This photo was taken on a small side street in a local Hindu temple. The hills behind us is the Amer Fort. The wedding took place in three states over four days. We remain close friends to this very day.
